UGoEigo English Sounds Lesson 9: G & K
Welcome to the ninth UGoEigo phonetics video podcast.
In this lesson we will study two new English sounds.
Listen to me say each word and watch my mouth.
Then say the word with me.
Move your mouth the same way as mine.
This lesson we will compare the ‘G’ and ‘K’ sounds.
‘G’ makes two sounds - “hard” and “soft”.
This lesson we will practice the “hard G” sound.
Watch and say it with me…
Now let’s try the ‘K’ sound.
Watch and say it with me…
What is the same? What is different?
Your tongue is in the same place for both.
Touch the back of your tongue to the back of your mouth.
For ‘G’ use your voice. For ‘K’ breath out.
